John VanHolstyn

“Coach V” was the varsity boys basketball coach of Calvary Baptist Academy for 32 seasons. His teams have excelled with numerous conference titles and trips to the M.A.C.S. state championship game as runner up in ‘94, ‘97, ‘99, ‘04, ‘05, and winning it all in ’92, ’11, ‘14 and ’20. In 2014, he was named the Midland Daily News Coach of the Year and was inducted into the Midland County Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.

Mark Dickerson

Over the past 27 years Coach Dickerson’s resumé includes freshman, junior varsity, and varsity teams. He has coached both boys and girls including teams in Florida and Michigan, at Midland High, H.H. Dow High and most recently as the varsity girls coach at Calvary Baptist Academy. Coach Dickerson also holds certification as an I’m Possible Trainer & Coach.

James Day

Coach Day has 17 years of high school varsity experience and is currently the varsity boys coach at Calvary Baptist Academy. He has won 3 state championships. Coach Day is a certified coach with the United States Soccer Federation, having completed his E and F licenses.

Sandra Herriage

Coach Herriage has a broad experience in coaching both basketball and volleyball. Her coaching career began in Guam, immeiately after her collegiate playing career. She coached 4 years of varsity girls volleyball and basketball, as well as 2 years of varsity boys volleyball. She spent the next 8 years in Florida coaching varsity girls basketball and volleyball before moving to Michigan. In her first season as the varsity girls basketball coach at CBA and her team won the M.A.C.S. basketball state championship.

Danelle Dickerson

With experience coaching every level of high school volleyball, Coach Dickerson has spent 12 seasons as a high school varsity coach as well as several seasons as a JV and varsity assistant coach. Her varsity coaching career began in Florida and continued in Michigan. She is currently the varsity girls volleyball coach for Calvary Baptist Academy and led her team to an MHSAA Division 4 Regional Final in 2021.

Coach Fisk

Coach Fisk is the robotics coordinator for Calvary Baptist Academy. She started the elementary robotics program at CBA eight years ago and since then has coached all levels, including teams that have qualified for the state championship at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Her teams have won awards in robot design, robot control (coding), innovation, and outreach. She is a practicing STEM professional as a Senior Research and Development Leader, and has a doctorate in chemistry with a certification in science and math education.
